Edit: I wrote this post on Wednesday, and I’m going to leave it as is. Somehow my Wordpress Database got screwed up on the server (read: not my fault), and had to reinstall Wordpress. Also, some of the images I’d posted since the migration are gone, so I’ll have to re-post them.
Tonight I was browsing Photo-Eye’s website for the first time in a really long while, and realized that I hadn’t looked at someone else’s work besides Darren’s, Jon’s, Michael Slade’s, Tyler’s, and one or two other websites. Along with that realization came another realization that I’m “photographically starved,” despite receiving their email newsletter (which I hardly ever read). I found several new Robert Adams books, a few of which will have to be added to my library. I don’t really know where I was going with that, other than I just felt like writing it down…or typing it…up(?) as it were.
On another note, Saturday I got some Museo Silver Rag printer paper, after Darren had showed it to me when I was in Rexburg a couple of weeks ago. I’ve only made one print on it so far, but it’s gorgeous. It prints the highlights a bit lighter than the Epson Velvet Fine Art I’ve been printing on for the past two years or so, but the shadows (at least in this particular print) are beautiful. The image is also overall sharper, due to it being a glossier surface than the Velvet surface is. So, Darren, thanks. I’m hooked.
Here’s one more photograph I got scanned and finally finished (this one was a bear to fix).
Oh, and after about a month or so with this web host, I’m not sure I’m too pleased with them. The up-time hasn’t been very satisfactory. I’m really thinking of switching to Media Temple.
