In my last post, I mentioned I almost took a job at Island Park Scout Camp, but decided not to. I had already quit my job framing, but after deciding not to work at camp, I decided to just move down to Logan, since I already had a place rented. So when we got home on Friday (my mom, two brothers, and a sister are all working up there this year), I immediately started packing. Saturday morning, we loaded up my grandpas truck and headed south. After a construction detour through Brigham City, we finally got to Logan at about 2:00. After we got everything unpacked, we headed over to the Cache Valley Cruise In, a really big hot rod and car show held every Fourth of July weekend. We walked through fairly quickly, and then said our goodbyes, and my dad left for Idaho Falls, and I started getting settled in to my new place, which I must say, is pretty nice. So, tomorrow, I start job hunting. Yuk.

So I got all my application stuff submitted to USU. Now for the long and nail-biting wait.
I just finished up with USU’s application, minus the Letter of Intent, which I am just beginning. I took the GRE on Saturday, so all the big steps are done.
I also finished a new design of a business card this morning:
Last week I left Best Buy to go frame again. It was nice working in a warm building, but I really do miss building. And the pay is a LOT better framing; almost twice as much per hour, which results in a paycheck about 3-4 times bigger due to how many hours I can work framing.
So I just got off the phone with Craig, and a guy at University of Nevada Reno (Peter Goin wasn’t in; he’s getting ready for a semester-long trip to Mexico). Craig was excited to see me apply again. I also got an appointment scheduled to take the GRE (to the tune of $140), which I’ll have to take next Saturday, so all this week I’ll be studying for that. EW!
I’ve almost got the main application done for USU. I just have three more sections to fill out, and I’ll be done with that part of it, and then I need to complete the department application stuff. I need to take a GRE or MAT, like within the next week or so (yikes). I tried calling Craig Law down there today, but couldn’t reach him.
I’m getting so stoked to get this done. It’s been far too long since I’ve been in Academia, and I really do miss it. Also, I am glad that I hit that rut that I was in down in Utah. I’ve been able to really evaluate how passionate I am about photography, and about pursuing an M.F.A., and I would say that I’m even more passionate about photography than I was previously.
